Azerbaijan Flagpole

This flagpole with a weight of 220 metric ton and a height of 162 meter is one of the largest in the world.

The flag has an area of 2,450 square meters (30 x 70) weighing approx 350 kg.

Its extreme height and small diameter makes the flagpole sensitive for wind loads.

To keep the stresses under the fatigue limed Flow Engineering installed a tuned mass damper inside the flagpole.
